Ultra takes delivery of new VM3 5 axis CNC mill
Ultra Precision took delivery of their latest CNC mill with 5th axis trunnion during the first week of September. The VM3 CNC mill supplied by Haas, was chosen for the extended work area that is a feature of the VM range of machines. Measuring 1016mm x 660mm x 635mm, this allows us the room to fit a TRT 160 5th axis rotary table whilst leaving plenty of room for other work.

15,000 rpm spindle and a 24 + 1 tool changer allows for high speed machining and good flexibility. The VM3 with the TRT160 has given us increased 5 axis capacity for lower volume quantities and reduces lead times by reducing operations required in more complex parts. It sits along side our Matsuura MX330 with 10 pallet loading system for our high volume 5 axis milling.
